Professional Background

Mila Malairau has served as the Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Moldova (AmCham Moldova) since 2008. Under her leadership, AmCham Moldova has become one of the country's leading business associations. The AmCham community plays a key role in advancing regulatory reforms and promoting a better business environment, facilitating public-private dialogue and addressing cross-sector challenges. 
Mila is an active member of numerous boards and working groups that connect the business sector with government institutions. Since 2016, she has been a member of the Economic Council under the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, where she leads a task force focused on eliminating barriers to entrepreneurship. In 2023, she was elected to the Executive Committee of AmChams in Europe (ACE), a network representing 50 American Chambers of Commerce in 48 countries across Europe and Eurasia.

Education

Mila holds a degree in Economics from the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova and a Master’s degree in Law from the State University of Moldova.
