Professional Background & Current Role

Nicu Scutaru inherited a family tradition of winemaking, but only turned to it after many years of entrepreneurial experience in other industries and various sectors of agribusiness.

Winemaking became a true calling for Nicu after the passing of his father. In his native village of Bașcalia, he established Terra Dacia — a winery built on family land and nourished by the legacy of their ancestral vineyards.

What began as a personal project has since grown into a brand with international distribution.

Company Specialization

Terra Dacia crafts wines deeply rooted in Moldovan heritage — from Feteasca Albă to Traminer — blending family tradition with modern technology. The focus lies in small-batch production, artisanal methods, and pure grapes sourced from southern Moldova.

Passions

Wine and music are not just hobbies, but the two wings of one philosophy. Nicu is an avid collector of live music and concert experiences, having attended shows by the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Joe Bonamassa, Metallica, U2, Deep Purple, and other legends. At his winery, music is not mere background — it becomes part of the winemaking process itself.
