Interview with Anton Perkin, CEO at Fusion Works, about Moldova Developer Conference'19. Be Great Together powered by Tekwill Section
Anton, do you realize that Moldova Developer Conference'19 would not have been welcomed in the EU?
Why?
I wasn’t too lazy and reviewed all the speakers. 18 people will speak three languages for two days and these are only men. I noticed a couple of foreigners there, my beloved Nikolay Manolov, who will speak about how to build an international AI-based start-up in Moldova, I also saw Kirill Borzov with a topic about the power of deadline, many people unknown to me with professional topics, and not a single woman among them! There are quotas in the European Parliament, but not at the MDC!
Pavel, I solemnly promise to introduce next year several women among speakers, but now I can guarantee, if you look at the registration sheet, than the number of female IT developers is only growing and there will be enough of them in the hall.
The second question. Conference organizers are often concerned about selling tickets. Moreover, “all-all-all” are invited to the conference. If you look at the topics of presentations, Moldova Developer Conference'19 is very specialized, “Non-trivial solutions to trivial problems for Android developers”. Well, how many people will come to listen to such a topic?
Last year, when the Moldova Developer Conference was held in this format for the first time, there were 350 people. This year, apparently, it will bring together 450. In my opinion, if the number of specialists in the industry is large, it’s easier to sell a specialized conference. And as you know, there are a bit more “IT specialists” in Moldova. More than 450 or 4,500. By the way, I’m still somehow inviting you, Pavel, to an informal evening with the speakers at “Propaganda”, but only you, because although there are three more weeks before the conference, VIP tickets entitling to attend this “party” everything have already been sold on the web-site.
Then should all other people be upset about this?
I wouldn’t say so. There will be plenty of opportunities to communicate with the speakers in an informal setting with each other and at Tekwill. We have specifically planned the “breaks” to be a little longer so that people have time to get to know each other and talk. You know that Tekwill is a cool place, it’s conducive to communication.
What is new at Moldova Developer Conference'19 compared to ’18?
I call it a facelift. Like at a car premiere. Details have become more beautiful, the essence doesn’t change. Because the format hasn’t exhausted itself, but hasn’t yet fully manifested itself. What pleases me is that many IT companies have supported the event. We specifically don’t brand it for any company, even for us, the organizers. Maybe we unwittingly have violated the principle of gender equality in the composition of the speakers, but we have genuine democracy in all other respects. This is an event for IT professionals.
In terms of speeches?
They didn’t include agile and block chain. It seems to me that everyone are tired of these topics. There will be more presentations about current issues for developers. Well, such as Manolov from XOR for start-ups. Although the IT specialist that doesn’t dream of becoming a start-up is a bad one.
As for your parties, since last year, the Moldova Developer Conference has always become famous for its after-parties with surprises...
I make it clear that there will be no striptease this year. There will be an after-party, but we’re still choosing a place, we’ll not repeat last year, we’re looking for something new.
Listen, we’ve told the most important thing, let's not dilute the text with calls to buy the remaining tickets and come to the conference. I suggest to give a link to the conference web-site, let those who are interested read who will speak about what. Deal?
Deal, Pavel. And I want to give you a VIP gift, to make your site pavelzingan.md more popular,
What kind of gift?
Write here, in the interview, that for the evening with the speakers at “Propaganda” you‘ll be able to bring one person with you, and let those, who want to come, white to you in the section “Cooperation” on the web-site and you’ll play one “pass” for the event.
Anton, thanks for the gesture of endless generosity. I hope that my mail host will cope with this flow of letters.
Then, here are two links:
Link where to write in order to get to the event at “Propaganda” to me with a trailer... (!!!!) Moreover, it will be a great quest. When I was making a link, I’ve decided to check if there is a button to send me messages on the mobile version. And it has turned out that it missed for more than a year. And it missed indeed. THAT is, it’s impossible to send a message from the mobile version at all.
In conclusion:
God, thanks to Perkin as due to him this bug has been found. The second one. If you want to get a chance to visit “Propaganda”, you have to go to the desktop top version, there is a button...
And you need to fix this bug. I love IT and developers….
