Serghei Mîrza. On the range of LH47 projects: from a chateau to a house on a hill

"Business Map" presents the LH47 architecture office. Reported by Serghei Mîrza, CEO and founder of LH47

The history of the company

LH47 architecture office was founded in 2015 as a team of three like-minded individuals, and within six years it has grown into a company with over 20 professionals. The office has started from projects in the Republic of Moldova, gradually reaching the international market. Today, the office carries out projects in Moldova, Russia, Romania, Georgia, and Kazakhstan.

LH47 Principles

Throughout these years we have grown, we have found our approaches, formed our team and principles, and now we are at the point where our clients are willing to carry out projects that may seem, at first glance, crazy. By committing to move forward with us, clients take risks in creating architectural spaces that correspond to the contemporary spirit, broadening people's horizons of perception. An example of this is a project we are currently working on a private house on a hill. It was proposed to partially integrate the house into the natural hill and, by adding an embankment, to merge it with nature. The house will have no exterior walls, but only a front façade that emerges from the hill in the form of a panoramic window - all in harmony with the surroundings thanks to the forest plantation. The green valley, with huge boulders scattered across the grounds, immerses us in a world of fairytale characters. All this is achieved using state-of-the-art design and construction techniques.

Another example is an out-of-town office, which aims to reflect the client's eco-friendly attitude to life and nature. The project makes maximum use of natural materials, with the office walls made from specially treated pressed straw. This is also the approach we take to 'big shapes'. May I give you an example? Transforming an abandoned concrete industrial building into an art object.

LH47's areas of expertise

Even before I set up LH47, I had a lot of experience as an architect, including in the field of industrial construction. However, in the process of developing LH47, we decided not to limit ourselves to just one field.

Today, we work in commercial, industrial, residential, office, and interior design architecture.

Range of projects

IUNAS business park in Chisinau with an area of 7000 square meters, micro-district of low residential complexes in Comrat, terraced private houses in the area of the Ghidigici dam, where the cascade of terraces allows to arrange the buildings so that each owner has an unobstructed, panoramic view towards the surface of the lake water. At the same time, the houses themselves combine exterior minimalism with maximum interior comfort for their owners, and the roofs of the houses are "green", offering the most natural view possible.

LH47 portfolio

Here are just a few of our projects.

CHATEAU CRISTI. A new building for a famous winery in the south of Moldova, in the famous Trajan's Wall area. The focus was on a combination of masonry and large panoramic windows.

IUNAS PARK. Is a multifunctional complex built according to the latest European standards.

LOGISTICS CENTRE in the Moscow region. A decision to improve infrastructure in the region of the new residential complex.

SMART SPACE. An innovative iHab in Georgia combining office and production facilities.

Designing public spaces

In addition to large-scale architectural projects, LH47 is willing to get involved in the design of public spaces, such as parks and city squares. One such LH47 project is currently taking part in an international competition in Chisinau. We believe we must invest our time and energy in projects that change the ecosystem of modern cities through environmentally friendly and sustainable solutions.

Teamwork

LH47's greatest asset is its team of professionals. But it's not just teamwork that holds us together. It has become a tradition for the whole team to spend the winter holidays in the mountains. Apparently, we have a passion for conquering peaks. Overcoming difficulties together during a hike contributes to a better cohesion of work during complex projects.

Future goals

We continue to see Moldova as an important market for our architecture firm. However, the priority is to expand the geography and scope of projects in the international market, both in the former Soviet Union and in Europe.
